ONE!
Fears and doubts were held by all
Will they rise or will they fall?
Such fragile little kids they are
We are about to push them very far
TWO!
Excitement and wonder at what will come
Curiosity about what might happen to some
Will we survive what the adventure might bring?
We want each child to try every thing!
THREE!
The children have few inhibitions
Many are risk-takers by definition
Adults are often more scared than kids
“Let me go, Mom,” one’s expression bids
JUMP!
Let go of the waist, the hand, the finger
And all of the fears that may still linger
We’ve jumped off the ledge, flying high in the air
Child and parent alike, willing to take on more dares
