Parents thank Bangalore Mahanagar Palike!

The government's job is perhaps a thankless one. It has been a target of much ridicule and antagonism. As a common belief, we equate it to inefficiency, corruption and selfish motives. However, we at Bubbles recently had a unique experience – one that many did not believe could happen.

The Biswa Gouri Charitable Trust recently received financial aid for parents of the children at Bubbles, helping them avail of interventions for their children. We applied for the aid, and to be quite honest, did not expect much. But to our surprise, we received a prompt reply, saying that our appeal was granted and that we would soon receive the financial aid. The second surprise was the amount of aid granted. It was not just a name-sake amount that was given, but the entire fees of the complete intervention therapies for all our children at the school!

This was truly an eye-opening, heart- gladdening, feeling-blessed moment. For parents of children with special needs, the emotional weight itself is a heavy one, leave alone the financial repercussions. For the government to actually create a scheme to help us bear this weight by easing our financial burden gave a very warm feeling. It truly changed our perception of the Government world.

Thank you so much for it. God Bless. May we all be successful in creating a more empathetic, aware, and accepting world.

Bubbles Learning Centre For Autism

The intent of creating an online space for Bubbles Learning Centre is to target a wider audience and to help autistic children reach us at a much earlier stage.

There are very few schools in Bangalore who cater to children with autism. We have very specific programs addressing each of their deficits in skills such as language and communication, play and social skills.

Apart from this, we run an early intervention programme where in skill training is given with a holistic approach.

In Bubbles, we ensure that the student-teacher ratio is small, typically around 1:2.

We lay emphasis on the overall development of the child and enable them to lead independent lives.

Parent empowerment, family counselling, training and their involvement is given major priority in the training process.

The purpose of the counselling sessions is to promote the physical, emotional, spiritual, social and economic well-being of families. The intent is to help the parents understand the full potential of their children and in training the children to achieve the same.
